The world is moving towards a cleaner form of transport. The future is definitely electric. More manufacturers than ever are releasing hybrids or electric versions of their bestselling models. This year, there will be more EVs launching than ever before. Here are the best EVs for 2021.
2021 Lucid Air
The only model available for now is the Dream Edition of the Lucid Air. On a full charge, it has a range of 503 miles. But it costs $169,000. Lucid does plan on launching less expensive and less powerful Air models in the near future.
2021 Porsche Taycan
At $105,150, the base Porsche Taycan 4S is one of the most expensive EV on sale. It has a range of 203 miles. Other trims of the Taycan are even more expensive, with the Turbo starting at $152,250 and the Turbo S costing an eye-watering $186,350. But these are the best driving EVs so far.
2021 Tesla Model S
The Tesla Model S has received a few updates for 2021, including a new price tag. But the most significant update is the new claimed range for the Model S – over 500 miles. Another notable update is the launch of the new 1,080hp Model S Plaid – the quickest, the one with the most range, and most powerful version of the Model S. Prices start at $69,420 for the base Long Range Plus. The Performance trim goes 334 miles and costs $91,990. The 520+ mile Plaid is set to cost $139,990.
2021 Polestar 2
This is the Swedish company’s follow up to the exceptionally beautiful and exclusive Polestar 1. This version isn’t a plug-in hybrid but a pure battery EV. Prices start at $61,200, and this funky-looking crossover sedan EV has a range of 233 miles.
2021 Tesla Model 3
It has been around for a while, but Tesla makes regular updates to its entry-level car. The 2021 model receives several updates to its interior and exterior. It looks sleeker, and on the inside, it’s more functional than ever with a redesigned center console and an extra USB port. The range on every trim has also increased. Prices start at $39,190.
